Frequently asked questions

Is Iran safe for tourists?

Most visitors are surprised by how warm and welcoming Iranians are, and petty crime is relatively low. Because the regional situation can change, we always recommend checking your government’s current travel advice and taking out travel insurance that covers Iran.

How long should my first trip be?

Ten to fourteen days is ideal for the classic route of Tehran, Kashan, Isfahan, Yazd and Shiraz. With a week you can still see Isfahan, Yazd and Shiraz at a comfortable pace.

Can I pay with my credit card?

No — international cards do not work in Iran. Bring cash in euros or US dollars, or use a local prepaid tourist card. We can arrange most payments for your trip in advance.

Do I have to travel with a guide?

Most nationalities can travel independently. Citizens of the USA, the UK and Canada must be accompanied by a licensed guide. Either way, a local guide makes the history, the food and the people far easier to discover.

What should women wear?

A headscarf in public, plus loose clothing that covers the arms and reaches below the hips — a long shirt or light coat over trousers works well. Bright colours are completely fine.

How much does a tailor-made trip cost?

It depends on the length, season, hotels and how you like to travel. Send us your wishes and we will reply with a detailed, transparent quote — free and without obligation.

Ready to see Iran with your own eyes?

Tell us your dates and interests — we’ll reply with a personal itinerary within 48 hours, free and without obligation.
