Honest, practical answers to the questions every traveller asks.
Most visitors are surprised by how warm and welcoming Iranians are, and petty crime is relatively low. Because the regional situation can change, we always recommend checking your government’s current travel advice and taking out travel insurance that covers Iran.
Ten to fourteen days is ideal for the classic route of Tehran, Kashan, Isfahan, Yazd and Shiraz. With a week you can still see Isfahan, Yazd and Shiraz at a comfortable pace.
No — international cards do not work in Iran. Bring cash in euros or US dollars, or use a local prepaid tourist card. We can arrange most payments for your trip in advance.
Most nationalities can travel independently. Citizens of the USA, the UK and Canada must be accompanied by a licensed guide. Either way, a local guide makes the history, the food and the people far easier to discover.
